Webinar: Recent Trends in Risky Driving

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced new steps to address the unique traffic safety conditions during the national public health emergency that began last spring, including emptier roads, faster speeds, and increased driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Working with modal partners within the U.S. Department of Transportation, as well as researchers, traffic safety advocates, state and local transportation officials, and law enforcement, NHTSA will host a series of workshops to discuss emerging trends and develop effective countermeasures. This webinar will provide an overview of these issues. Speakers will include:

  • James Owens, NHTSA Deputy Administrator
  • Nanda Srinivasan, NHTSA Associate Administrator for Research and Program Development
  • Chou-Lin Chen, NHTSA Associate Administrator for National Center for Statistics and Analysis
  • Jamie Pfister, NHTSA Associate Administrator for Regional Operations and Program Delivery

Four additional virtual workshops with stakeholders will take place during October. We are committed to providing equal access to this event for all participants. Closed captioning will be provided. People with disabilities who need additional accommodations should send a request to [email protected] no later than September 28.
