Resource: GHSA's FY 2021 Annual Report Out Now

GHSA Annual Report
July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021
GHSA’s latest Annual Report highlights association activities conducted between July 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021. The past year presented both challenges and opportunities that reinforced the critical role GHSA and our members and partners play in moving toward zero roadway deaths.

Association highlights:
  • Provided more than $400,000 in grants to help states combat high-risk and drug-impaired driving and teen driver speeding.
  • Produced publications to educate members and the public about micromobility, teens and speeding, and pedestrian safety. The annual spotlight on pedestrian safety report was expanded to include an Addendum that provided the first comprehensive look at state and national trends in pedestrian deaths for all of 2020.
  • Met with NHTSA Acting Administrator Dr. Steven Cliff and collaborated with NHTSA, congressional staff and national highway safety organizations to coordinate advocacy on federal transportation reauthorization and infrastructure legislation.
  • Responded to the national discussions about equity and traffic enforcement by forming a working group and publishing the report, An Analysis of Traffic Fatalities by Race and Ethnicity.
GHSA thanks the State Highway Safety Offices and our Associate Members, including the 2021 Highway Safety Champions, for your partnership. We look forward to continuing our collaboration to promote traffic safety as a national priority and save lives.
